| We had been doing small jobs for a nation wide Corporastion when the opperetunity to quote a never ending job of large proportations. After some home work we found the company presently enjoying the work had the capaticy to print the item 8 up. at 8,000 imp. Our capaticy was just 2 up at 10,000 imp.
As you can see at this rate we would not be competieve. We knew our competor had a lot of secondary, cutting etc. First we went to Aling & Cory our paper supplier in Rochester, NY. to see if we could purchase 20LB white 13 inches by 19 & 1/2 inches which means NO scrap and just one cut. They could not supply this sheet size.
Our next step was a paper sheeter in Buffalo NY. he said yes! Now we, bought our paper at wholesale prices, eliminating Aling & Cory, almost zero scrap, and just one chop cut.
We won the bid and enjoyed the relationship.
What is to be learned:
Just because you do not have the biggest or fastesrt press nessarely dosent mean you have lost the job.
